Carla Wallach

Carla WallachSelected Publications:
A former President of Greenwich Pen Women, Carla has recently published her memoir, In the Company of Originals. Having lived with and been influenced by three dynamic “originals” – her father, her mother, and her husband – she has the genes and the spirit for adventure that framed her life of endless travel, glamorous social life, and successful entrepreneurial endeavors.

Her first job was in the magazine department at Shell Oil in NYC. Next Carla and a friend started what she believes is the first advertising agency in NY to handle only women’s products—women promoting only women’s products was a pioneering concept in the 1950s. She sold the agency while still only in her 20s to join her husband on his global business travels for W. R. Grace.

When not traveling, she threw herself into volunteer work in NYC as a member of the Board of Directors of the Red Cross and chairing the French-American annual ball. Her experience chairing charity balls was put to good use when she moved to Greenwich and the Bruce Museum was looking for a significant fund raising event. Carla set up and chaired the first Renaissance Ball that continues to this day. More recently, she has lent her skills to fund raising for the Adult Day Care Center in town.

Carla is also a columnist for the Greenwich Time and Stamford Advocate.
